A Lifelong Love of Beautiful Things

My mother grew up in Washington, D.C., where I was born. Each summer we’d return to visit my grandparents, and I cherished every minute in that elegant city.

My grandfather’s sister lived in a row house in Georgetown. If I was lucky, I got to spend the night with Aunt Alice and listen to stories about the glamorous embassy parties she attended. I was completely enchanted — and at just nine years old decided that one day I’d marry an ambassador so I could host dinner parties and meet fascinating people.

My father was from the South, where I was raised. Much has been said about Southern hospitality, and my family was no exception. I happily set the table for lunch and dinner, even when it was just the three of us. My mother encouraged every creative whim, and somewhere between those meals, my love for setting the table — no matter how grand or humble — took root.

Years later, I found myself wandering antique fairs across Europe, often in windy old RAF airfields, bundled in layers and thrilled by every find. Discovering treasures and learning their stories through the dealers became wonderfully addictive.

That lifelong passion for antiques, tableware, and the art of gathering has led me here. I hope you’ll enjoy exploring, learning, and finding a little treasure or two — some antique, some vintage, and some simply for fun.
